NEW Canon Sith Lord Revealed - Darth Noctyss | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: The novel Shadow of the Sith introduced us to a new canon Sith Lord…kind of. A curved, red lightsaber is a major part of the story, thought to be a legendary weapon that belonged to Darth Noctyss. That’s a new name for canon, but Noctyss was first introduced in the non-canon book of in-universe myths called Dark Legends. It would appear that, once again, there’s always some truth to legends, because Darth Noctyss and Darth Sanguis, another character from that same tale, were both mentioned by name, and of course the curved lightsaber further solidifies the connection. In Dark Legends, Noctyss travels to Exegol seeking immortality, like the Sith love to do. She meets a twisted creature that helps her uncover the research of Darth Sanguis. Noctyss completes a three day ritual that involves the sacrifice of her new assistant, and she succeeds in achieving immortality, but turns into a twisted creature herself, and realizes too late that the creature was Darth Sanguis, who was manipulating her into freeing him from his tortured immortality while also taking his place. How much of that is, quote, true in canon? I don’t know.
