Why Palpatine is AFRAID of Obi-Wan Kenobi | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Palpatine was afraid of Obi-Wan Kenobi. That’s right, the most powerful Sith Lord in the galaxy was afraid of one surviving Jedi. At the end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Palpatine orders Darth Vader to stop his hunt for Kenobi. And Vader goes from promising to tear the galaxy apart to find his old master to claiming Kenobi means nothing. And that’s exactly what Palpatine wants to hear. He doesn’t want to hear that Vader cares about Obi-Wan on any level, because the dark side of the Force shuns connection. Even if Vader is angry and intending to kill Kenobi, it’s plain to see that any interaction with the Jedi brings Anakin back to the surface. And Palpatine doesn’t want that. He doesn’t want the part of Vader that was good to come back at all.
