Why All Padme's Handmaidens' Names Sound the Same | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Why do almost all of Padme’s handmaidens have similar names? Sabe, Rabe, Eirtae, Sache, Yane, Dorme, Corde…why do they all sound like that? Why did they make it so confusing? First and foremost, none of those names were their birth names. They all changed their names to honor their queen. Sabe’s original name was Tsabin. Yane was Suyan, Rabe was Rabene, Eirtae was Eirtama, Sache was Sasha, and so on. The suggestion was brought on by Rabene, who had gained some level of fame on Naboo as an artist, and didn’t wish to attract any extra attention.
