The E-Wing from the New Ahsoka Trailer Explained in Under a Minute - Star Wars Explained Fast | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: One of my favorite little nerdy moments from the new Ahsoka trailer was seeing an E-Wing flying alongside Sabine on Lothal. I loved that ship from Star Wars Legends, and seeing it in live action was a thrill I didn’t expect, so I’m going to cover the ship’s history *real* fast today! The E-Wing first appeared in the Dark Empire comics and was meant to be like a combination of the X-Wing and the A-Wing, having excellent speed, maneuverability, firepower, *and* armor. It first saw action in the Legends version of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return. Unfortunately it had some problems upon its initial release, many having to do with the R7 astromech droids that were created specifically for the ship. So it never gained the same widespread use of the X-Wing. Technically the E-Wing was already made canon thanks to a brief appearance in the Poe Dameron comics, but seeing it in Ahsoka will firmly place its use by the New Republic around the same time as its Legends creation. #starwars #ahsoka #shorts Subscribe for more Star Wars videos every day!
