The character Mika Grey from Star Wars Resistance season two was heavily inspired by Asajj Ventress. In fact, in an interview with Friends of the Force podcast, the head writer of Resistance, Brandon Auman, said that the original plan was for Mika to *be* an older Ventress, and that she was going to fight Kylo Ren. Auman said it was initially Dave Filoni’s idea, but the man in the cowboy hat eventually decided that including her in the series would pull focus away from the main story. Which it would have. All this to say that Asajj Ventress somehow being resurrected or living beyond the events of the novel Dark Disciple is not something the Bad Batch writers did without thinking. They are likely building off of some of Dave Filoni’s thoughts during the development of Star Wars Resistance.
