Did You Know The Empire Strikes Back Originally Featured a Wampa Attack on Echo Base? | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Did you know The Empire Strikes Back was originally going to have a sequence where wampas attacked the rebels of Echo Base? The creatures would have run amok until being trapped in a room that snowtroopers would eventually open, only to be attacked themselves. Although several of the scenes were filmed, the ice monsters never looked quite right, and so the wampas were mostly cut from the film. But you can still see evidence of their destruction, like a 21B medical droid tending to a tauntaun in the mess, or the warning sticker on the door that contained them.
