Did You Know Saw Gerrera Was Originally Created for Star Wars: Underworld? | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Although Star Wars fans first met Saw Gerrera in The Clone Wars, did you know he was originally planned to be a live action character? Yes, he eventually made his way into Rogue One and Andor, but George Lucas first envisioned Saw for the live action series Star Wars Underworld. Unfortunately, the series never came to be, so Lucas pivoted Saw Gerrera into The Clone Wars to tell the story of his origins on Onderon, fighting against the Separatists. John Knoll also originally developed his pitch for Rogue One hoping it could be used for Underworld as well. So it’s fitting that when the film came to be, it also allowed Saw to appear as he was originally imagined by Lucas. #starwars #shorts #rogueone Subscribe for more Star Wars videos every day!
