How Can Asajj Ventress Appear in The Bad Batch? #starwars #thebadbatch | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Asajj Ventress is returning to screens in The Bad Batch Season Three! Which has some Star Wars fans understandably confused, because she was killed in the canon book Dark Disciple, which was based off of unfinished episodes of The Clone Wars. So what gives? How can she be in The Bad Batch? We don’t know yet, but the showrunners have already let fans know that they’re not retconning or ignoring the book. On StarWars.com, supervising director and executive producer Brad Rau “Made clear that her return will honor prior tales, including the book in which the character apparently perished, saying, “We don't want to spoil anything, but want fans to know that any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Star Wars: Dark Disciple.” The official databank was also updated to say, “Ventress sacrificed herself to save Quinlan’s life, taking the brunt of Dooku’s Force lightning during their final confrontation. But that wasn’t the end of Asajj’s story…” Obviously we won’t know until the episode airs, but I’m glad to hear straight from the creators that The Bad Batch won’t ignore the events of Dark Disciple. I’m still rolling my eyes a bit at the resurrection of another dead character in Star Wars, but at least Asajj is part of a culture where that’s just a thing that happens.
