The Force as a Martial Art - Shon-Ju Explained in Under a Minute #starwars | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Do you know of the martial art, Shon-Ju in Star Wars? In the comic Shadows of Starlight issue three, Jedi Grandmaster Pra-Tre Veter faced down several Nihil marauders that were hoping to capture him. They used a piece of technology that rendered lightsabers useless, shutting them down with the flick of a button. But Veter unleashed the full power of Shon-Ju, using the Force itself as a weapon, carving his way through his attackers and nearly escaping. It would appear that the martial art was named after a Legends character from a Clone Wars comic called The Deadly Hands of Shon-Ju. He was raised at the Jedi temple, but was eventually rejected because of his overuse of the Force as a weapon. He began a school of his own to teach other Force-sensitives his unique martial art. During the Clone Wars, Shon-Ju and his students rescued Aayla Secura, but they came into conflict, which led to the loss of his hands. But of course he received cybernetic replacements, and as far as we know he was still alive through the rest of the Clone Wars. Subscribe for more Star Wars videos every day!
