We don’t have a full picture of what happened to the criminal syndicate after the death of Dryden Vos, but we know Maul eventually lost control of his Shadow Collective and died at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Qi’ra rose to take his place and after the events of The Empire Strikes Back stole Han Solo’s carbonite slab from Boba Fett. She and Crimson Dawn announced their return by auctioning off the slab to the highest bidder, which threw the criminal underworld into chaos. Her true goal was to defeat the Sith that Maul had once taught her all about. She recruited mercenaries like the Knights of Ren and unleashed a secret fleet she had built for years to draw Sidious and Vader into the fight with threats of a mysterious device known as the Fermata Cage. Built by an ancient Sith, it had the ability to freeze any being in stasis. She nearly trapped the Sith Lords, but was betrayed by the Knights of Ren, who freed Sidious and pledged their service to him.
