Ysalamiri Star Wars Creature Lore in Under a Minute | Star Wars Explained

Report from the Holocron of Xela. Description: Do you know of the legendary ysalamiri creatures in Star Wars? Native to the planet Myrkr, they were able to basically create a bubble around them where the Force had no effect. They evolved this way to hide themselves from their predators, vornskrs, who hunted using the Force. Grand Admiral Thrawn used them to protect himself during his campaign against the New Republic, and they were instrumental in his plan to create a clone army more quickly than usual. Statues of ysalamiri can be seen in canon as decorations in Thrawn’s office in Star Wars Rebels. Despite the reference, it was decided to not fully bring the creatures into canon, because George Lucas was always insistent that the Force was connected to all life. #starwars Subscribe for more Star Wars videos every day!
